Four Diagnosis and Symptoms of Sheep Rheumatism

The disease is a painful inflammation of the joints or muscles.

First, the cause

The long-term wet, cold, air pollution of the sheep house, or the sheep being attacked by thief wind and pouring rain, are easy to induce the disease, but the real reason is not yet fully understood. At present, it is generally believed that it is related to hemolytic streptococcal infection, and some people think it is due to inappropriate feed, so that the body produces too much acid, or a certain part of the body can not discharge waste, causing the disease.

Second, the symptoms

Occurred throughout the body, but also locally. In general, it is characterized by stiff limbs, inconvenient movement, or cramps. Sometimes the joint enlarges and the body temperature rises. Acute cases often fall suddenly and cannot stand up. When it occurs in the neck, the head tends to one side and the neck does not move freely. If it is muscle rheumatism, it can touch the muscles of the affected area.

Third, the diagnosis

When diagnosing, pay attention to the following two characteristics.

1. The affected area is not limited to one place. It is often migratory, and it infringes on the hind limbs. Therefore, it often has a hard hair at the waist.

2. Mindlines are characterized by short steps and stiff gait. At the beginning of walking, the line of walking was remarkable, and after walking for a while, it was relieved and even very inconspicuous.

3. Differential Diagnosis: Care should be taken to distinguish between myeloma, calcium deficiency and tetanus.

1 Rheumatism. Incidence process: First, lameness, only the acute one can suddenly lie down. Characteristics of affected limbs: The muscles are stiff and hard to metastasize, and there are painful reactions when pressing locally. Body temperature: elevated when acute. Appetite: Reduced appetite when acute.

2 spinal cord filamentous disease. The process of the disease: it is sudden. The characteristics of affected limbs: no tension, no stiffening, no metastasis, no pain reaction when pressing muscles. Body temperature: no increase. Appetite: Not affected. If time is long, it will gradually decrease due to inactivity.

3 calcium deficiency. Incidence: from insignificant lameness to obvious lameness, it is very thin when lying. The characteristics of limbs: not hard or nervous, sometimes see the deformation of the head leg, joints become larger. Body temperature: no increase. Appetite: gradually decreased.

4 Tetanus. The pathogenesis: rapid development. The characteristics of limbs: straight limbs, joints can not flex. Body temperature: no increase. Appetite: Rapidly reduced to total elimination, trismus.

In addition, seasonal and local considerations must also be taken into account in the differential diagnosis. For example, the seasonality of the myeloid disease of the cerebellum is very strong, and most of them occur when the mosquitoes are between July and October. Rheumatism is more common in the wet and cold conditions of autumn and winter. It can also happen when there is no mosquito; calcium deficiency and Tetanus has no obvious seasonality. As long as the feed is deficient in calcium or the ratio of calcium to phosphorus is too long, calcium deficiency disease can occur, and it is often an endemic disease (high groundwater level, soil calcium deficiency).
