According to a recent report by the Japanese Asahi Shimbun website, recent research by scientists in the United States and Japan found that "extracellular nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase" (eNAMPT) not only prolongs the lifespan of mice, but also reverses the aging of mice. Moreover, the good news is that humans also have this enzyme, which helps scientists develop new anti-aging methods.

As mice and humans continue to age, the amount of "nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide" (NAD) in the body will drop significantly. New research shows that eNAMPT enzymes can produce NAD.

In the experiment, researchers from the University of Washington and the National Center for Gerontology and Gerontology in Japan investigated the age of the rats at 6 months and 18 months. The circulating concentrations of eNAMPT in the blood of males and females were reduced. 30% and 70%. They also found that older mice with higher eNAMPT levels had longer lifespan than older mice lacking eNAMPT.

In order to maintain the amount of enzymes in the mice, the research team performed genetic manipulation on the mice. The results showed that even in the older mice, the physical activity level was one year younger. If it is a person, from the perspective of bodily functions, it is equivalent to returning to the 20s from the 50s. In addition, the rats maintained a high level of sleep quality, learning ability, memory ability and retinal cell ability.

Subsequently, the team extracted eNAMPT-containing components from mice aged 4-6 months and injected them into females aged 26 months for 3 consecutive months. The results show that the life of the latter is extended by 16%, the coat color is better, and the movement is more flexible than before.

Professor Imai, Ichiro, a research professor at the University of Washington, said that eNAMPT has the potential to become an anti-aging method.
