Dry dairy cows

Dry Dairy Dairy Breeding: Dry Dairy Period is a periodical rest period for lactating cows, which depends on the nutrition and health status of the cow and is usually 2 months. Pre-dry milk (305-345 days after childbirth) should control the amount of dietary feeding and maintain a moderate level of nutrition. In general, dry matter intake of diet should be controlled at 2-2.5% of dry cow weight, and the amount of concentrate should be 0.6-0.8% (3-4 kg) of body weight. High-yield cattle and body lean cattle can be fed with concentrates as appropriate, but the maximum can not exceed 6 kg. During the late period of dry milk (345-365 days after childbirth), the protein level in the diet should be appropriately increased and low-calcium feeding method should be adopted (50 g and 30 g daily calcium and phosphorus respectively). Problems that should be paid attention to during dry milking period: (1) Strictly control the amount of concentrated feed to prevent over-nutrition in the dry-dairy diet and make the cow obese. (2) Dry cows should deal with cows with a history of frailty and a history of disease in the later period. Take calcium-sugar therapy, intramuscular injection of vitamin D3 and progesterone to prevent milk production, placental retention, and ketosis. (3) During the late period of dry milk, the cow should be given a heading material, minus the juicy material. Generally, each cow feeds 3 kg of fines per day and adds 0.5 kg per day on this basis until 1-1.5 kg of fine material is obtained per 100 kg of body weight. (4) The dry milk method can be used to stop the milk quickly. Under normal circumstances, if the milk production of dairy cows has already dropped to about 10kg, the number of milkings per day can be changed from 3 to 1 and then squeezed once every other day or every other day. Within 7 days, milk juice is completely squeezed. After the last milking, the breasts should be inspected. When the performance is normal, the breasts should be stopped and the nipples should be closed with antibiotic oil and chlortetracycline ointment. If the milk production during dry milk is still relatively high (over 15 kg), the amount of concentrate feed may be limited and the drinking water may be appropriately controlled to reduce the milk production of the dairy cow. Stop the milk as described above.
