Eight tips for safe use of centrifugal spray dryers

Spray drying is the most widely used process in the liquid process forming and drying industry. It is most suitable for the production of powdered, granulated or lumpy solid products from solutions, emulsions, suspensions and plastic paste liquid materials. Therefore, when the particle size distribution, residual moisture content, bulk density and particle shape of the finished product must meet the exact standards. Spray drying is an ideal process.

Precautions and safety hazards of high-speed centrifugal spray dryer
1. When the oxygen concentration is less than 21%, it is strictly forbidden to open the inspection door; otherwise, it may cause the operator to lack oxygen, resulting in suffocation.

2. When opening the freezer, it is necessary to open circulating water;

3. Before each driving, the two filling ports of the atomizer must be filled;

4. During the closed operation, when spraying organic solvents (such as ethanol, xylene, etc.), the oxygen concentration must be controlled below 5% (can be introduced into N2 or re-booted to make the oxygen concentration reach the required value), otherwise the organic solvent There is a danger of burning and explosion.

5. During the operation of the spray dryer, do not touch the rotating parts (atomizer, atomizer disk, belt, motor fan blade)

6. The surface temperature of the spray dryer is relatively high during operation or after a period of shutdown. Please do not touch the bag filter, cyclone, air duct, atomizer, exhaust fan, observation window and other components by hand.

7. When the temperature of the spray dryer drying tower does not drop to normal temperature, please do not enter the tower.

8. When opening and closing the spray dryer door, disassembling the air duct, cyclone separator, and atomizer, be careful when your hands and fingers are caught.
