Management of premature eggplant after colonization

First, after planting the seedlings, they should be tightly covered and pressed to ensure good soil contact and promote root establishment. During the seedling adjustment period, if the plants show signs of wilting during midday on sunny days, it's advisable to use shade nets or grass to provide temporary protection. About a week later, young leaves will start to appear, and when temperatures are high at noon, ventilation should be introduced gradually. Cultivate the soil every 3-5 days, starting shallow and increasing depth over time, which helps stimulate root development. Maintain greenhouse temperatures between 25-30°C during the day and 15-20°C at night for optimal growth.
Second, during the fruiting stage, it's important to cover the plants with grass or alfalfa as early as possible to expose the fruit to more light, which enhances photosynthesis and improves air circulation during warm, sunny days. Watering is typically avoided before fruiting, but frequent cultivation, weeding, and transplanting can help maintain soil health. During the flowering phase, when temperatures are relatively low, applying 20-30 ppm of 2,4-D can help prevent flower drop. Once the fruits begin to grow, pruning of the top (topping) should be done, and 20 kg of urea per mu should be applied. Before and after fruit set, remove any side branches below the fruit-bearing area to improve light penetration and airflow.
Third, after harvesting eggplants, they enter the main fruiting period. At this time, daytime temperatures outside the greenhouse are usually stable around 20°C, but nights remain cooler. Therefore, it's recommended to remove the plastic cover during the day and re-cover it at night. If nighttime temperatures consistently stay above 20°C, the cover can be removed permanently. Water the plants once every 7-10 days, and combine watering with top-dressing using a mix of compound fertilizer and organic manure. Pruning is essential for promoting early maturity and higher yields. Regularly remove excess shoots and prune the tops as needed. Also, promptly remove old, lower leaves to improve air circulation and reduce disease risk. Eggplants and door eggplants should be harvested in a timely manner to ensure quality and maximize yield.
