Management of premature eggplant after colonization

First, after planting the seedlings, they should be tightly covered and pressed to ensure good soil contact and promote root establishment. During the seedling acclimation period, if the plants show signs of wilting during midday on sunny days, it's advisable to use shade nets or grass clippings to provide temporary protection. About seven days after planting, the first set of true leaves will start to appear, and at this point, you can begin to ventilate the area when temperatures are high in the afternoon. It is recommended to cultivate the soil every 3-5 days, starting shallow and gradually increasing depth, which helps stimulate root development. The greenhouse temperature should be maintained between 25-30°C during the day and 15-20°C at night to support healthy growth. Second, during the fruiting stage, it's important to cover the plants with grass or alfalfa as early as possible to protect them from excessive heat while allowing enough light exposure. This also improves air circulation on warm, sunny days. Watering should generally be avoided before fruiting to prevent overwatering and encourage stronger root development. Regular cultivation, weeding, and thinning of seedlings can help maintain plant health. During the flowering phase, the temperature tends to be lower, so using a 20-30 ppm solution of 2,4-D can help improve fruit set. Once the fruits begin to develop, pruning of the top shoots (tipping) should start, along with watering and applying 20 kg of urea per mu. Before and after fruit setting, any side branches below the main fruit cluster should be removed to enhance air flow and light penetration. Third, after harvesting eggplants, the plants enter their productive phase. At this time, daytime temperatures outside the greenhouse are usually stable around 20°C, but nighttime temperatures may still be low. Therefore, it's best to remove the plastic cover during the day and re-cover it at night. If the nighttime temperature remains consistently above 20°C, the cover can be left off permanently. Watering should occur every 7-10 days, and it's ideal to combine this with top-dressing using a mix of compound fertilizer and organic manure. Pruning is essential for promoting early maturity and higher yields. Timely removal of lateral shoots and topping of the plants should be done regularly. Additionally, old, lower leaves should be removed promptly to improve ventilation and reduce disease risk. Eggplants should be harvested at the right time to ensure quality and maximize yield.
