Rice field molluscicide can use snail amine

Chen Kaijin, from Dongba Town in Gaochun County, reported on June 9 that many rice fields in the area are facing a serious snail infestation after transplanting. The snails are thin and elongated, with delicate shells. In some areas, there are dozens of snails per rice plant, with over thirty per square meter. The affected rice seedlings have fallen over, and their leaves have turned pale and lost their green color. He is seeking advice on which pesticides can effectively control this problem. Currently, several pesticides are registered for snail control in rice fields. These include chlorprobenolamine, chloricamine ethanolamine salt, triphenylacetic acid tin, and tetraacetaldehyde. Among these, sekisaldehyde is usually formulated as granules and may help reduce damage to rice leaves. Talc acid salts and chloricamine amine salts can be used as granules or sprayed with water. Spraying might be more effective for controlling the snails described. Several products are suitable for spraying. For example, "Shiramid Amine" (70% WP, produced by Jiangsu Qiaoji Biochemical Co., Ltd.) is effective against rice field snails, with a recommended dosage of 30–40g per mu. Another option is "Baixusha" (70% chlorhexidine WP, Bayer), and "Spirolacin" (25% chlorsulfamethanolamine wettable powder, Zhejiang Jiben Pesticide Chemical Co., Ltd.), which is used for golden snails at 100–120g per mu. There's also "Snail" (50% chlorhexidine ethanolamine salt wettable powder). Chlorproguanil (Bermospira, Chlorospiro, Bezol) is a phenolic organic molluscicide with a soil half-life of 1.1–2.9 days. It is effective at concentrations of 0.3–1 mg/l in paddy fields. When applying these chemicals, it's important to take safety measures, such as wearing protective clothing, masks, goggles, and rubber gloves to avoid poisoning. Chlorpromazine ethanolamine salt (spiro extinguishment, niclosamide ethanolamine salt) is a stomach poison that targets snails and other mollusks. It is less toxic to humans and animals but highly toxic to fish, frogs, and shellfish. It’s easy to use, can be diluted with water, and is effective against various pests like snails, slugs, and crickets. Always follow instructions carefully when using these products to ensure both crop safety and environmental protection.
