The post-autumn cultivation techniques of celery, such as Pleurotus ostreatus
Before winter fertilization and soil preparation, the earthworms and stilt roots that have grown up to 20 cm in height are carefully excavated according to a layout of 80 cm in height, 60 cm in width, and 20 cm in depth. This helps to create a better environment for planting. For celery, we choose varieties like Jinnan real celery and American celery. Seeds are sown in August, and seedlings are transplanted into the sorghum fields in early October. A small arch structure is added for insulation during the cold winter months. By early November, sterilized cottonseed husks are placed into the lowland areas and inoculated with Pleurotus ostreatus (oyster mushrooms). The first harvest of mushrooms begins in early February and continues through early April. The celery is harvested just before the Spring Festival. In late February, two rows of early-season tomatoes are planted on the leftover celery residue. Tomato seedlings are started indoors in mid-December and transplanted into greenhouses. They are protected with multiple layers of covering during the initial growth phase. Harvesting starts in early May, and the tomato plants are removed by the end of May. Afterward, the area is thoroughly tilled and filled with 10 cm of fine soil. At the beginning of June, the pod variety 28-2 is broadcasted directly into the original tomato beds, along with cooling measures and other cultivation practices.
Bean harvesting takes place in early September. Before the beans are picked, in late August, two rows of cucumber are sown under the bean trellis. Prior to planting, the existing oyster mushroom bed is opened, and the soil on the raised beds is prepared. The Pleurotus ostreatus is watered and shaded, and no new inoculation is needed—using the existing substrate and mycelium can produce a second batch of autumn oyster mushrooms. Late autumn cucumbers are grown under protective film starting in mid to late October, ensuring they survive the colder weather.
